Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join Barraba Multipurpose Service. This rural facility delivers aged care, community health, and acute care, offering a supportive team and opportunities to grow professionally.

You will provide safe, evidence-based nursing across settings, administer medications, respond to emergencies, document care, and work with a multidisciplinary team, ENs, and AINs.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with NSW Health policies.
• Respond to clinical deterioration and emergency situations.
• Provide compassionate, person-centred care to patients and residents.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic health records.
• Collaborate with medical, allied health, and support staff in a multidisciplinary team.
• Supervise Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) where appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation activities.
• Promote NSW Health values and professional standards; demonstrate adaptability in a rural setting.
