Job summary

Kerin Health in rural New South Wales is seeking an experienced Paediatric Speech Pathologist to deliver face-to-face therapy to children and families. You’ll join a small, supportive team and have the autonomy to choose your hours, days, and caseload while collaborating with Allied Health colleagues to provide holistic care.

The role focuses on direct paediatric clients, with opportunities for professional development, a wellness budget, and housing options if relocation is considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current registration and licensure as a Speech Pathologist in Australia.
• Strong knowledge of Speech Pathology theories and practices.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage clients.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills, including time management and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Initial Assessments: conduct thorough assessments of children referred to the service using a range of assessment tools, observation, and parent interviews to determine the child’s speech therapy needs.
• Treatment Planning and Intervention: develop individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques to deliver intervention that meets the client’s goals.
• Service Delivery: deliver high-quality speech therapy services to children and families.
• Collaborative Multidisciplinary Teamwork: collaborate closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and integrated care for children.
• Parent and Caregiver Education: educate and empower parents and caregivers about their child’s speech therapy goals, intervention strategies, and home-based activities.
• Progress Monitoring and Documentation: regularly monitor and evaluate children's progress towards goals, adjust plans, and maintain documentation.
• Professional Development and Continuous Learning: stay abreast of current research and engage in ongoing professional development.
