Hunter New England Local Health District – Moree NSW invites applications for a Rural General Nurse Practitioner/Transitional Nurse Practitioner at Moree District Hospital. The role focuses on advanced clinical assessment, ED wait-time reduction and collaboration with hospital and community teams.

Structured support is available for transitioning to Nurse Practitioner, with ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities in a supportive rural health service.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with AHPRA and current Nurse Practitioner endorsement (or progression toward endorsement).
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or progress toward attainment with 3+ years emergency experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management within an approved scope.
• Support patient flow and hospital avoidance through timely assessment and management.
• Collaborate with ED and community teams to improve patient pathways and reduce avoidable presentations.
• Provide advanced chronic disease assessment and management across hospital, primary care and community services.
• Provide clinical leadership and expert nursing advice across the service.
• Contribute to education, mentoring and professional development of staff.
