Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a part-time Senior Lecturer to lead general medicine teaching at Echuca Clinical School. You will collaborate with Echuca Regional Health to shape the rural medical workforce and supervise student projects.

Role focuses on curriculum delivery, student assessment and professional development while maintaining clinical practice. 0.2 FTE, fixed term to 31 Dec 2028 with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Hold a medical qualification recognised in Australia plus Fellowship or equivalent recognised postgraduate clinical qualification.
• Demonstrate strong experience in clinical teaching, medical education and curriculum delivery within hospital-based general medicine settings.
• Build effective working relationships with medical practitioners across regional and rural contexts.
• Provide thoughtful academic guidance, feedback and counselling to students as required.
• Maintain active clinical practice and commit to development of medical education capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver high quality general medicine teaching, tutorials and clinical learning activities for RCS students.
• Coordinate student placements, ward rounds and inpatient experiences in medicine with Echuca Regional Health teams.
• Orientate students to Echuca ward processes and provide ongoing guidance on professional conduct and skills.
• Contribute to assessment design, in-term assessments and examinations with standards-aligned evaluation.
• Participate in departmental committees and research activities, including supervising student research projects.
