Flinders University invites an experienced clinician to join as Associate Professor and Director, Regional Training Hub SA. This leadership role drives excellence in rural medical education, clinical teaching and workforce development across South Australia, contributing to the medical program and rural training pathways.

Working with academic staff, health services and government, you will mentor staff, shape curricula and advance regional health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive clinical experience and current registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA, supported by a doctorate or equivalent professional standing.
• Proven record of excellence in tertiary and clinical education, including leadership in design, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning practices.
• Success leading and mentoring academic teams, managing teaching programs, and contributing to curriculum development, quality assurance and accreditation activities.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, health services, industry partners and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the South Australian Regional Training Hub and the SA Rural Medical Program, ensuring high-quality clinical education, teaching excellence and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain partnerships with health services, professional bodies and government stakeholders to develop and strengthen rural medical training pathways and workforce initiatives.
• Lead and support academic staff while delivering innovative, student-centred learning experiences, curriculum development and clinical teaching across the medical program.
• Mentor and support medical students and junior doctors, promoting rural and remote career pathways through career planning, professional development and placement opportunities.
