Job summary

Flinders Rural Health SA invites applications for the role of Associate Professor and Director, Regional Training Hub SA, a fixed-term, part-time position (0.8 FTE). The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for rural medical education and workforce development across South Australia, collaborating with health services, government and industry partners.

You will drive curriculum development, mentor academic staff, and strengthen rural training pathways to improve regional health

Qualifications

• Extensive clinical experience and current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• A proven record of excellence in tertiary and clinical education, including leadership in design, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning practices.
• Experience leading academic teams, managing teaching programs, and contributing to curriculum development, quality assurance and accreditation activities.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders across health services, industry partners and communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the South Australian Regional Training Hub and the SA Rural Medical Program, ensuring high-quality clinical education and teaching excellence.
• Build and maintain partnerships with health services, professional bodies and government stakeholders to strengthen rural training pathways and workforce initiatives.
• Lead and mentor academic staff while delivering curriculum development, clinical teaching and student-centred learning experiences across the medical program.
• Support medical students and junior doctors, promoting rural and remote career pathways through career planning and placements.
• Contribute to accreditation activities and quality assurance to maintain program standards.
