Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking Rural Generalists with advanced skills in Emergency Medicine to provide Emergency Department coverage across rural and regional sites including Moree, Glen Innes, Inverell, Gunnedah and Narrabri.

Visiting Medical Officer positions are FFS or sessional, offering flexible engagement within a supportive network, with opportunities to influence models of care and participate in regional training initiatives.

Qualifications

• A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA.
• Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRRM.
• Recognition as a Rural Generalist and/or via overseas-trained pathways.
• Recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice (Emergency Medicine).

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Department coverage across rural and regional sites.
• Deliver high-quality emergency and general medical care in ED settings.
• Support training and supervision of junior staff and trainees.
• Collaborate with regional networks and telehealth services.
