Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician in Queensland to service critical plant equipment, including gas engines and compressors. You will focus on proactive maintenance, troubleshooting rotating equipment, and ensuring safe, reliable operations in a remote site setting.

The role offers 2 weeks on/2 weeks off DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane, or live locally near the Chinchilla region, with a collaborative team and emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade; current driver’s licence required.
• Hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, exposure to gas engines, rotating equipment, high‑pressure compression.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a safety-first approach to identifying and solving plant issues.
• Experience using SAP for work orders and materials management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot rotating equipment and compressors to keep plant running safely.
• Plan and deliver preventative maintenance, including work orders and safety permits.
• Respond to planned and unplanned maintenance, maximise asset availability and reliability.
• Support teammates and apprentices and contribute to continuous improvement.
