Job summary

Pointe Engineering in Australia is seeking a Rope Access Technician to join our slope stabilisation team. You will work outdoors on steep slopes and tight sites, using rope access techniques to support geotechnical projects.

Requirements include IRATA Level 1 (500hrs+), White Card, Work at Heights, Police clearance, a current driver's licence, and the ability to pass medical and drug screening; bonus for drilling or heavy equipment skills.

Qualifications

• IRATA Level 1 minimum (500hrs+) required; Level 2/3 desirable.
• Geotechnical experience: scaling, drilling, shotcrete, steel fixing, tension mesh, gabion cages.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in challenging environments.
• Confident working on ropes, slopes, and rugged terrain.
• Organised with paperwork and basic reporting/safety logs.
• Team player willing to help where needed.

Responsibilities

• Work on rope-access slope stabilisation projects.
• Operate safely on limited-access sites with supervision from experienced crew.
• Maintain daily logs and safety reporting.
• Collaborate with multiple trades to support project objectives.

What You Need to Be

• IRATA Level 1 minimum (500hrs+). Level 2 and 3 strongly desirable
• Experience with geotechnical work: scaling, drilling, shotcrete, steel fixing, tension mesh, gabion cages
• Physically fit and ready for outdoor work in challenging environments
• Confident working on ropes, slopes, and in rugged terrain
• Organised with paperwork and basic technology (reporting, safety compliance, daily logs)
• A team player who's not afraid to step in and help wherever needed
