Job summary

Rose Coatings is seeking a full-time Rope Access Technician for on-site work in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. You will perform exterior painting and protective coating applications on mid- and high-rise structures using industrial rope access methods.

You will prepare surfaces, apply coatings, undertake remedial work, assist with basic inspections, and maintain rope access equipment while following all safety procedures.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Rope Access Technician role based in Brisbane and Gold Coast, QLD. The Rope Access Technician will perform exterior painting and protective coating applications on mid- and high-rise structures using industrial rope access methods. Daily tasks include preparing surfaces, applying specified coating systems, undertaking remedial and repair works, and assisting with basic inspections of building surfaces and existing coatings. The role also involves working at height to access hard-to-reach areas safely, maintaining rope access equipment, and following all company safety procedures and regulations. The technician will collaborate with supervisors and team members to plan work sequences, complete jobs on schedule, and ensure a high-quality finish that meets client and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capability in Working at Height / Work at Height, with strong awareness of safety procedures and fall protection systems.
• Proficiency in Rope Access operations, including use of harnesses, descenders, and associated equipment in line with industry standards.
• Experience in Window Cleaning or similar building exterior work that requires safe access and careful surface handling.
• Ability to perform basic Inspection tasks related to coatings, surfaces, and access equipment, and to report findings accurately.
• Relevant rope access certification (e.g., IRATA or equivalent) and up-to-date working-at-height training.
• Experience in commercial painting, coatings application, or remedial building works is highly beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable work ethic, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a team environment.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
• Commitment to safe work practices and willingness to participate in ongoing safety and technical training.
