Job summary

RAS-Vertex on the Sunshine Coast seeks a Paint-Supervisor to lead painting and waterproofing on commercial projects. You will manage site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure work meets quality standards and schedules.

Ideal candidates have a trade painting qualification, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and a strong focus on safety and delivering robust results in demanding environments.

Job Description

Rope Access Services Pty Ltd The Rope Access Painter-Supervisor is responsible for the effective day-to-day supervision and coordination of the company’s site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in accordance with project specifications, scopes of work and agreed timeframes. The position requires a trade-qualified and highly experienced construction professional , with extensive practical experience in painting, waterproofing, crack repair and façade remediation.

You will provide strong leadership to site teams and is responsible for coordinating employees, subcontractors, materials, equipment and site activities. The position also acts as an important link between the site team, management, clients and other construction professionals. The role is both hands‑on and supervisory , requiring the ability to lead by example while ensuring work is completed correctly and efficiently.

Task & responsibilities

• Supervise and undertake painting and coating works associated with building maintenance, refurbishment and façade remediation.
• Ensure appropriate surface preparation is undertaken prior to coating application.
• Ensure products are mixed, applied and cured in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Identify surface defects, substrate issues and potential coating failures.
• Ensure correct preparation and application techniques are used for different substrates and coating systems.
• Monitor quality of completed painting works and rectify defects where required.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications and the company’s standards.
• Site supervision and team leadership
• Supervise and complete waterproofing and associated remedial works
• Site planning and Coordination
• Manage and ensure health and safety compliance
• Quality control of all works
• Ensure proper ordering, delivery and storage of materials

Qualification & experience

• Relevant trade qualification in painting
• Extensive practical experience within the building and construction industry, at least 3-5 years
• Significant experience in painting and waterproofing.

• Demonstrated experience supervising construction teams.
• Strong understanding of construction site practices and requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand scopes of work, drawings and specifications.

• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively at heights and in challenging construction environments.
• Current licences, tickets and competencies relevant to the work being undertaken.
