Job summary

Pointe Engineering is seeking a Driller and Rope Technician in Townsville, Queensland, to join its slope stabilisation team. You will perform rope-access geotechnical work and specialist limited-access drilling on steep slopes and restricted sites, as part of a field crew delivering safe geotechnical solutions.

Minimum IRATA Level 1 with 500+ rope-access hours; Level 2/3 is highly desirable. White Card, Work at Heights, Police Clearance, and a valid driver's licence are required.

Qualifications

• IRATA Level 1 with 500+ rope-access hours
• Geotechnical drilling, scaling and stabilization experience
• Experience with shotcrete, steel fixing, tension mesh or gabion installation
• Comfortable working at heights on steep slopes and restricted-access sites
• Good understanding of safety procedures and rope-access protocols
• Organised and able to complete basic site paperwork and reports
• White Card and Work at Heights certification
• National Police Clearance and current driver's licence
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Carry out geotechnical works using rope-access techniques: scaling, drilling, shotcrete, steel fixing, tension mesh and gabion installation
• Perform limited-access drilling from ropes for slope stabilisation and geotechnical projects
• Work safely on ropes, steep slopes and rugged terrain
• Inspect and maintain rope-access equipment and drilling tools per safety procedures
• Complete daily logs, safety documentation and basic operational reporting
• Support site crew across drilling, stabilisation and related construction activities
