Job summary

SDN Children's Services is seeking a Senior Educator / Room Leader at SDN Lidcombe to lead a high-quality educational program for toddlers and nurture a supportive team.

You will mentor educators, reflect on practice and align with EYLF and NQS, while building strong partnerships with families. The role emphasises safe environments, wellbeing, and inclusive learning within the SDN framework.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care required.
• Experience as Senior Educator with leadership experience or readiness to step into a Room Leader role.
• Ability to guide, support and mentor educators to create a warm, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Strong understanding of child safety and child protection responsibilities.
• Knowledge of EYLF and National Quality Standards.
• Experience planning, documenting and evaluating children’s learning.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and SDN leadership methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor educators to deliver a high-quality educational program reflecting children's interests and needs.
• Build meaningful relationships with toddlers to support belonging, confidence and independence.
• Create a safe, engaging environment encouraging exploration and learning through play.
• Plan, implement and evaluate an EYLF-guided program.
• Observe, document and reflect on children's learning and development.
• Support children's wellbeing and emerging independence and self-help skills.
• Establish routines promoting trust, security and positive transitions.
• Foster partnerships with families as key learning partners.
• Lead and support the team through collaboration and reflective practice.
