Job summary

MindChamps Warriewood is seeking an experienced Nursery Room Leader to guide a team in delivering high-quality care and education for infants aged 0–2 years. You will plan developmentally appropriate experiences, mentor educators, and foster strong relationships with families in a warm, inclusive environment.

You will lead curriculum planning, observations, and reflections to continuously improve practices while ensuring safety and compliance with EYLF and NQF standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an ACECQA-recognised equivalent qualification.
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates.
• Police Check required.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQF, and NQS.
• Experience in a nursery or with children aged 0–2 years.
• Experience leading or supporting an early childhood room.
• Ability to mentor and support educators.

Your Role as a Room Leader

As a Nursery Room Leader at MindChamps, you will play a key role in leading your team and creating a warm, secure, nurturing, and stimulating environment where babies feel safe, valued, and supported to develop.

You will be responsible for guiding educators, developing high-quality learning experiences, and ensuring your nursery room reflects MindChamps’ commitment to excellence in early childhood education and care.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting your nursery team to deliver high-quality education and care.
• Creating and implementing engaging programs that reflect each child's individual interests, strengths, abilities, and developmental needs.
• Providing responsive and nurturing care that supports babies' emotional security, wellbeing, and development.
• Building strong, secure, and respectful relationships with children and families.
• Embedding intentional teaching practices aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Leading curriculum planning, observations, documentation, reflections, and continuous improvement practices.
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating nursery environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Supporting children's development across social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive domains.
• Establishing consistent routines and responding sensitively to children's individual needs.
• Maintaining strong communication with families and providing meaningful updates about their child's learning, development, and wellbeing.
• Mentoring, guiding, and supporting educators to strengthen their confidence, knowledge, and professional practice.
• Acting as a positive role model and promoting teamwork, collaboration, and professionalism within the service.
• Ensuring children's safety, wellbeing, and inclusion remain at the centre of all decisions and practices.
• Maintaining compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Regulations, and National Quality Standards.
• Supporting the Centre Director and leadership team to achieve strong quality outcomes and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a passionate and experienced early childhood professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and make a meaningful contribution as a Nursery Room Leader.

You will have:

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or an ACECQA-recognised equivalent qualification.
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates.
• Child protection training, including knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements.
• Willingness to undergo a Police Check.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYLF, National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, and contemporary early childhood practices.
• Previous experience working in a nursery or with children aged 0–2 years.
• Previous experience leading or supporting an early childhood room.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and support educators within a team environment.
• Strong knowledge of infant development, responsive caregiving, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Experience with programming, documentation, reflective practice, and quality improvement.
• A flexible, adaptable, and solution-focused approach.
• A genuine passion for babies' learning, development, and wellbeing.
