Job summary

Willing Care Recruitment Limited is seeking a Room Leader for a nursery that prioritises outdoor learning and a warm, home-like environment. You will lead a team, ensure high-quality care, and organise daily activities that support children's confidence and independence.

The role focuses on safeguarding, development observations, and strong engagement with families, with opportunities for professional growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a childcare room or similar setting.
• Ability to plan engaging activities based on children's interests.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of your room.
• Lead and support practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education.
• Plan engaging experiences around children's interests and developmental needs.
• Encourage confidence, curiosity and independence through child-led learning.
• Utilise outdoor spaces including forest area, mud kitchen and sandpit.
• Oversee observations, assessments and development records.
• Maintain staffing and ratios within the room.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and nursery procedures are followed.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Create an environment where both children and practitioners can thrive.

£31,500 per annum | 40 Hours per Week | Good Ofsted Rating

Set within acres of beautiful grounds, this Good Ofsted-rated nursery offers a unique environment where outdoor learning plays a central role in children's everyday experiences.

From forest adventures and nature-based activities to imaginative play in the mud kitchen and sandpit, children have plenty of opportunities to explore, take appropriate risks and develop their confidence and independence. Inside, bright and airy rooms filled with natural light create a warm, home-from-home atmosphere where children feel secure and ready to learn.

As Room Leader, you'll take responsibility for creating a happy, well-organised room, leading your team and ensuring high-quality Early Years practice is consistent throughout the day.

Leading Your Room
