Job summary

Goodwin Brothers is seeking a Roofing Project Manager / Estimator to lead commercial roofing projects from tender through delivery. You will price, plan, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, and manage client relationships to ensure safety, schedule and budget alignment.

Based in NSW, you’ll work on government and major commercial projects with a hybrid role combining estimating and project delivery. A strong background in roofing and SIMPRO is preferred, with a drivers licence essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial roofing projects and a proven track record managing tenders and client relations.
• Strong communication skills with Government stakeholders and Tier 1 builders.
• Proficient with project administration and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, quotations, tenders and variations for commercial roofing projects.
• Review drawings and specifications; attend site inspections and client meetings.
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries to meet schedules.
• Manage multiple projects from start to finish, ensuring safety, time and budget adherence.
• Maintain project documentation and drive quality and continuous improvement.

As we continue to grow, we're seeking an experienced Roofing Project Manager / Estimator to join our high-performing team.

This is a unique hybrid role that combines estimating, project delivery and client management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from tender through to successful completion.

About the Role

As our Roofing Project Manager / Estimator, you’ll take ownership of commercial roofing projects from initial pricing through to successful completion. Working closely with our clients, site teams and subcontractors, you’ll ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the high standards Goodwin Brothers is known for.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Client Management

• Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, tenders and variations
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Attend site inspections and client meetings
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Government stakeholders, Tier 1 builders, consultants and facility managers
• Identify opportunities for additional works and value engineering where appropriate

Project Delivery

• Manage multiple commercial roofing projects from commencement through to completion
• Develop and maintain project programs and delivery schedules
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
• Monitor project progress, productivity and profitability
• Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact project delivery
• Maintain clear communication with clients throughout the life-cycle of each project

Site Coordination & Quality

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, safety and workmanship
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, manufacturer requirements and Goodwin Brothers’ quality standards
• Coordinate defect rectification and warranty works where required
• Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting and communication throughout each project
• Drive quality outcomes and ensure every project is completed to the highest standard

Commercial Performance

• Monitor project budgets, costs and profitability
• Prepare and manage progress claims and project variations
• Forecast project outcomes and identify potential cost overruns before they occur
• Work closely with the leadership team to improve project performance and operational efficiency
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business

About You

We’re looking for a motivated professional who takes pride in delivering quality projects and building long-term client relationships.

To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have:

• Cert III in Roof Plumbing
• Proven experience managing commercial roofing projects from estimation through to completion
• Experience preparing estimates, tenders and quotations within the commercial roofing industry
• Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, remedial works and maintenance
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Exceptional communication skills with the confidence to engage professionally with Government stakeholders, Tier 1 builders and commercial clients
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and project profitability
• Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
• High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Experience using SIMPRO is highly regarded
• Strong administrative skills with the ability to maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
• Current Australian Driver Licence
