Responsibilities

ROOFING LEADING HAND | $100,000–$115,000 + Super | Company Vehicle + Fuel Card | Full-Time

• Monday–Friday with minimal weekend work

An established and growing roofing business is seeking an experienced Roof Plumber / Leading Hand to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified roof plumber looking to take the next step in their career while staying actively involved on the tools.

In this role, you’ll lead a small crew, coordinate day-to-day site activities, mentor apprentices and help deliver a range of residential and commercial roofing projects to a high standard. ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your crew and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and mentoring a team of 2–3 apprentices
• Working hands-on across roofing projects
• Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications
• Organising daily site activities and coordinating workflow
• Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
• Monitoring quality, productivity and project progress
• Identifying and resolving issues on site before they become problems
• Communicating with builders, supervisors, clients and management
• Supporting and developing apprentices within the trade
• Taking ownership of your crew, site and project outcomes
• Ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for someone who is confident leading a crew and capable of making sound decisions independently on site.

You’ll ideally have:

• Roof Plumbing trade qualification – essential
• Previous experience as a Leading Hand or in a similar supervisory position
• Strong roofing industry experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• A strong focus on safety and quality workmanship
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• The ability to lead by example
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career

Desirable – or willingness to obtain:

• Police Clearance
• NSW Working With Children Check
• Contractors Licence
• MR Licence – preferred but not essential
