Maranoa Regional Council is seeking a Local Development Officer based in Roma to drive community development, coordinate projects and engage with local groups, businesses and agencies. You will turn ideas into actions that benefit Roma and surrounding communities.

You will build partnerships, support funding applications and help plan events, tourism and local initiatives, contributing to a thriving, connected region. A collaborative, proactive approach and strong reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in community development practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience coordinating projects, programs or community initiatives.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong written communication, research and reporting skills.

Responsabilités

• Building strong relationships with community groups, local businesses, government agencies and service providers.
• Leading and coordinating community development projects, programs and local initiatives.
• Supporting community groups to identify funding opportunities and prepare grant applications.
• Planning and delivering Council events, school holiday programs, youth activities and community celebrations.
• Developing partnerships that strengthen community connections and build local capacity.
