Job summary

Andromeda Robotics in Melbourne is seeking an Embedded Linux / Kernel Engineer to strengthen Abi's platform software, from kernel configuration to device bring-up, ensuring reliability and ease of development on real robots.

You will work across hardware/software boundaries, partner with firmware, electrical, autonomy, and AI teams, and own the Jetson-based Linux platform, including OTA updates, provisioning, and platform upgrades.

Qualifications

3–6 years of embedded Linux experience in robotics or similar field.
Strong Linux and OS debugging skills across userspace and kernel interfaces.
Proficient in C/C++, Rust, or Python for systems programming.

Responsibilities

Own and improve the Linux platform powering Abi across OS behaviour and hardware interfaces.
Investigate and resolve low-level system issues across boot, provisioning, upgrades, and networking.
Collaborate with firmware, electrical, autonomy, AI, and product teams to define clean hardware/software interfaces.
Build and improve tooling for provisioning, deployment, and diagnostics.
Validate platform changes on real robots with regression testing and hardware-in-the-loop where applicable.
Produce clear technical documentation for setup, debugging, and recovery procedures.
