Job summary

ConnectSydney is seeking an Electrical Technician to perform planned maintenance, upgrades, fault finding and repairs on traffic signals, VMS, TMU, VSLS, school signs and street lighting for TfNSW assets.

The role involves day, afternoon and night shifts on a 16-week rotating roster with weekend on-call, plus on-site training and safety responsibilities. NSW license and licencing requirements apply.

Qualifications

• NSW valid supervisors or contractors electrical licence.
• Current valid driver’s licence.
• General Construction Induction Card.
• Desirable: Authorised traffic controller.
• Communications cabling and fibre accreditations.
• High Risk Work licence (WP).
• Safe Working at Heights.
• First Aid, CPR and LVR.
• PLC and/or communications networking certificate.
• EWP license.
• MR truck licence.

Responsibilities

• Inspections and repairs for TfNSW roadside devices and equipment with accurate record updates.
• Ensure safety policy and environmental standards compliance; manage timekeeping.
• Lead own and small works team’s daily tasks and responsibilities.
• Lead daily tasks with partner, address asset faults, incidents and customer complaints; repair electronics.
• Report to stakeholders and collaborate with internal and external staff at Connect Sydney.
