Job summary

Maranoa Regional Council is seeking a skilled plant operator to construct and maintain the road network and other assets to required service standards.

You will operate a range of plant and equipment including Grader, Roller, Loader, Excavator, Backhoe, and assist with labouring and traffic control as part of a multi-skilled team.

This on-site, fixed-term, full-time role offers an RDO and generous leave entitlements, with a salary in the AUD 66k–67k range and locality allowances.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of Council plant and equipment to build and maintain the road network.
• Safely operate and maintain plant and machinery in line with OEM specifications and Council procedures.
• Complete daily servicing, maintenance and plant records to minimise downtime.
• Support road repairs, renewals, upgrades and general maintenance activities.
• Undertake general labouring, worksite preparation and clean‑up duties.
• Assist with traffic control signage and worksite setup in accordance with traffic control plans.
• Work as part of a multi-skilled team and provide support to other Council departments as required.
• Maintain accurate road construction, maintenance and plant documentation in accordance with Council requirements.
