Job summary

Fraser Coast Region in Hervey Bay is seeking a hands-on maintenance operator to perform day-to-day road and drainage upkeep across Hervey Bay and surrounding areas. You will operate Council plant, respond to urgent works, and ensure safety in all tasks.

Responsibilities include pothole repairs, pavement and shoulder maintenance, drainage works and bitumen patching, plus supporting traffic control per approved schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor operations, construction or maintenance.
• Current MR licence is required.
• Willingness to work across Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Tiaro and Oakhurst.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day road and drainage maintenance.
• Deliver pothole repairs, pavement and shoulder maintenance, drainage works and bitumen patching.
• Assist with traffic control in accordance with schemes and safety requirements.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service in the field and escalate issues when needed.
