Job summary

Golden Plains Shire Council is seeking a casual Roads and Drainage Maintenance Worker to join our team. The role offers an hourly rate from $36.77 plus casual loading and super, with potential to become permanent based on performance and business needs.

Ideal candidates will have experience operating plant (rollers, HC trucks, excavator, watercart) and a strong commitment to safety and quality in local road maintenance and construction.

Qualifications

• HC licence required.
• Experience delivering maintenance services to local communities is preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage workload.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety principles is essential.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to function effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out roads maintenance and construction tasks as directed.
• Operate plant safely and efficiently (e.g., rollers, HC trucks, excavator, watercart).
• Perform daily/ routine maintenance of mobile plant and equipment and complete pre-start checks.
• Ensure equipment is fueled and ready for the next day.
• Assist with general maintenance as directed by Supervisor or Team Lead.
