Job summary

Charter Diligence is seeking two reliable Road Workers to join a busy road maintenance crew in Narrandera. This hands-on outdoor role involves maintaining roads and roadside assets, with expected 8.5 hours/day and 76 hours/fortnight.

You will use hand and power tools and support traffic control and asset repairs. Ideal candidates will have White Card, NSW MR licence (highly regarded), and experience in road maintenance or civil construction.

Qualifications

• Current White Card.
• Current NSW MR driver’s licence.
• Current Workers on Foot (or willingness to obtain).
• Traffic Control tickets or willingness to obtain.
• Previous road maintenance/civil construction experience preferred.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to safely complete repetitive and physically demanding work.
• Willingness to complete a National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine road maintenance and repair work.
• Repair potholes and damaged road pavements.
• Install and maintain signs and guideposts.
• Assist with guardrail repairs and maintenance.
• Perform roadside and worksite rubbish collection.
• Use hand tools, power tools and basic equipment safely.
• Assist with traffic control around roadworks.
• Assist with roadside maintenance and asset repairs.
• Complete physical labouring duties outdoors.
• Load, unload and move tools and materials.
• Assist skilled workers and plant operators as required.
• Respond to call-outs and urgent maintenance work.

About the Role

We are looking for two reliable Road Workers to join a busy road maintenance crew based in Narrandera.

This is a hands‑on outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, working with tools and being part of a crew. You will help maintain roads and roadside assets across the local network.

Previous road maintenance, civil construction, labouring, asphalt, traffic control or similar outdoor experience will be highly regarded.

• Position: Road Worker
• Pay Rate: $45.45 per hour + super
• Expected Duration: ASAP until 30 October 2026 )with potential extension)
• Anticipated Hours: 8.5 hours per day/76 hours per fortnight (9-day fortnight)

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine road maintenance and repair work
• Repair potholes and damaged road pavements
• Install and maintain signs and guideposts
• Assist with guardrail repairs and maintenance
• Perform roadside and worksite rubbish collection
• Use hand tools, power tools and basic equipment safely
• Assist with traffic control around roadworks

• Follow traffic management, WHS and safe work procedures
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas
• Work effectively as part of a road maintenance crew

About You

You are reliable, physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions. You understand that roadwork is safety‑critical and are prepared to follow site procedures and work as part of a crew.

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Current White Card
• Current NSW driver's licence (MR licence is highly regarded)
• Current Workers on Foot (or willing to obtain prior to commencing)
• Traffic Control tickets or willingness to obtain
• Previous road maintenance, civil construction or labouring experience highly regarded
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to safely complete repetitive and physically demanding work
• Strong commitment to workplace and roadside safety
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team
• Flexibility to assist with call‑outs when required
• Ability to provide two recent employment references
• Willingness to complete a National Police Check
• Valid working rights in Australia - no visa sponsorship is available for this position
