Job summary

RAA, a South Australian icon, invites applications for a permanent roadside technician in Metropolitan Adelaide. You will diagnose and repair roadside faults, provide practical solutions and deliver outstanding customer service to our members and commercial customers.

Join a high-performing team with a structured training program, a company vehicle, tools, PPE and a uniform. The role starts Monday 2 November 2026, with 5 weeks of full-time training and shift work.

Qualifications

• Minimum trade level Certificate III in Automotive - Mechanical or Electrical (Mandatory).
• Automotive industry background with a track record of exceptional customer service.
• Knowledge of vehicle operation, components, and current-day diagnostic practices across makes/models.
• Ability to work shift work; Class C licence essential.
• Physically fit with strong time management, attention to detail and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out roadside repairs and diagnosis using automotive knowledge.
• Provide customer-focused solutions while maintaining high service standards.
• Be prepared, courteous and professional in all customer interactions.
• Promote RAA services and products when appropriate.
• Contribute to community road service and overall safety.

An exciting opportunity has become available for you to join an SA icon and provide professional assistance to our Metropolitan Adelaide members and commercial customers, who experience the inconvenience of an unexpected breakdown. This role will be ideal if you enjoy providing exceptional customer service and have good diagnostic skills to help our members get back on the road. You will:

• Carry out roadside repairs and diagnosis using your automotive knowledge and skills.
• Provide appropriate member solutions while maintaining exceptional customer
• Be prepared, focused and courteous with every customer interaction and conduct yourself in a professional and efficient manner.
• Promote all RAA Services and Product offerings when appropriate.
• Receive the satisfaction of providing essential road service to our community within a time of need.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Minimum trade level Certificate III in Automotive - Mechanical or Electrical (Mandatory)
• Automotive industry background with a track record of exceptional customer service
• Knowledge of vehicle operation, components, and current-day diagnostic practices with a variety of makes & models of vehicles
• Ability to work shift work
• Current ‘Class C’ drivers licence essential
• Must be physically fit to work in all environments, have excellent time management skills, take pride in your work and presentation
• Outstanding attention to detail along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be an innovative thinker with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
