Job summary

Yass Valley Council is seeking a reliable Skilled Labourer to support the Transport Infrastructure Team in the Yass Valley region. This permanent full-time role covers civil works, road maintenance, drainage, and operation of plant and machinery, contributing to local infrastructure projects.

Ideal candidates will have general construction experience, a current HR-desirable licence, a White Card, and traffic control qualifications or a willingness to obtain them.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in general construction and maintenance labouring duties.
• HR Licence desirable.
• White Card (Construction Induction) required.
• Current Traffic Controller qualification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of road works through skilled and general labouring duties.
• Operate plant and/or equipment associated with road construction, maintenance and drainage.
• Undertake manual handling and use of hand tools such as shovels, crowbars, brooms, rakes and hammers.
• Undertake traffic control.
• Ensure work practices are safe and efficient and propose improvements where appropriate.
• Ensure that vehicles are driven and operated safely within road rules.
