Yass Valley Council is seeking a reliable and motivated Skilled Labourer to join our Transport Infrastructure Team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of local infrastructure while working in a supportive team environment.

As a Skilled Labourer, you will assist in a range of civil works, including road maintenance, drainage, construction, operation of plant and machinery and general labouring duties across the Yass Valley region.

Qualificações

• White Card (Construction Induction) required.
• Current Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans qualifications or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to operate plant and equipment (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in general construction and maintenance labouring duties.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
• Commitment to safety and quality work.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the delivery of road works through skilled and general labouring duties.
• Operate plant and/or equipment associated with road construction, maintenance and drainage.
• Undertake tasks including manual handling and use of hand tools (shovels, crowbars, hammers, etc.).
• Undertake traffic control.
• Ensure safe and efficient work practices and propose improvements where appropriate.
• Ensure vehicles are driven and operated safely within road traffic laws.

Yass Valley Council is seeking a reliable and motivated Skilled Labourer to join our Transport Infrastructure Team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of local infrastructure while working in a supportive team environment.

About the Role
As a Skilled Labourer, you will assist in a range of civil works, including road maintenance, drainage, construction, operation of plant and machinery and general labouring duties across the Yass Valley region.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of road works through skilled and general labouring duties.
• Operate plant and/or equipment associated with road construction, maintenance and drainage.
• Undertake a variety of tasks which include manual handling and use of hand tools such as shovels, crowbars, brooms, rakes, hammers.
• Undertake traffic control.
• Ensure all work practices and processes relevant to the role are effective and efficient and propose improvements where appropriate.
• Ensure that vehicles are driven and operated in a safe and competent manner within all road traffic laws and regulations.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience in and ability to carry out general construction and maintenance labouring duties.
• Ability to operate plant and equipment (preferred)
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Current Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans qualifications issued by the Transport NSW or willingness to obtain.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team
• Commitment to safety and quality work

Salary Range depending on skills, experience and qualifications. Grade 2 - 4 in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government State

Grade 2 - $31.91 - $34.46 per hour plus 12% Superannuation
Grade 3 - $32.52 - $35.12 per hour plus 12% Superannuation
Grade 4 - $33.17 - $35.85 per hour plus 12% Superannuation
