Job summary

SA Health in Adelaide’s Northern Adelaide Local Health Network seeks a Registered/Clinical Nurse for the Older Persons Mental Health Unit on a full-time contract through to 29 October 2027. You will deliver person-centred care, perform assessments, and contribute to multidisciplinary planning in an inpatient setting.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally safe care, with training provided to develop dementia-care expertise and strong documentation within SA Health systems.

Qualifications

Registered nurse eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Experience in mental health nursing, especially older persons or dementia desired.
Ability to work across rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-informed nursing care to older adults with neuro behavioural and mental health needs.
Conduct thorough clinical assessments and participate in multidisciplinary care planning.
Provide recovery-oriented interventions while upholding dignity and family involvement.
Mentor junior staff and students and support a culture of learning.
