Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Midwife to join the Women's Health Unit on a two-week contract commencing 28 December 2026. This Grade 5 midwifery role offers the opportunity to work in a busy, supportive maternity environment in Mackay, Queensland, with a rotating roster of 8- and 12-hour shifts and a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight.

The position is ideal for candidates with strong intrapartum care skills and a focus on teamwork in a regional health service.

Formación

• Three+ years' experience in women's health or midwifery.
• Experience in labour ward and birth suite settings.

Preferred Requirements

• Minimum three years' experience in women's health nursing or midwifery
• Essential experience in labour ward and birth suite settings
• Ability to work rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts across the roster
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in intrapartum care
• Professional communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary maternity environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse with midwifery qualifications
• Experience with ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) systems
• Previous experience working within Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
