Prospa, a Sydney-based fintech, seeks a Senior Risk & Controls Lead to strengthen first-line risk and control disciplines across Operations, Product, Technology, Sales, Finance and People. You will partner with senior leaders to improve control effectiveness and embed accountability, driving a scalable risk culture in a growth-focused environment.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years’ experience in operational risk, risk & controls, business assurance, internal audit or risk transformation.
• Hands-on experience conducting RCSAs and facilitating risk workshops.
• Strong knowledge of control design, control testing and control effectiveness assessments.
• Demonstrated experience implementing or operating first-line assurance programmes.
• Process mapping and control framework development experience.
• Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and constructively challenging business decisions.
• The ability to balance commercial outcomes with sound risk management practices.
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset and comfort working through ambiguity.

Are you passionate about helping businesses strengthen risk and control practices without slowing down delivery?

Prospa is seeking a Senior Risk & Controls Lead to play a critical role in lifting our first line risk capability. This is a unique opportunity to partner directly with leaders across Operations, Product, Technology, Sales, Finance and People teams to build sustainable risk and control disciplines that support growth.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk & Legal, you’ll be instrumental in driving Prospa’s operational risk and controls maturity uplift. You’ll focus on strengthening business ownership of risk, enhancing control effectiveness, establishing a practical first-line assurance approach and embedding a culture of accountability across the organisation.

What you’ll bring:

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical risk and controls expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

5+ years’ experience in operational risk, risk & controls, business assurance, internal audit or risk transformation

Hands-on experience conducting RCSAs and facilitating risk workshops

Strong knowledge of control design, control testing and control effectiveness assessments

Demonstrated experience implementing or operating first-line assurance programmes

Process mapping and control framework development experience

Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and constructively challenging business decisions

The ability to balance commercial outcomes with sound risk management practices

A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset and comfort working through ambiguity
