Job summary

Aware Super is seeking a Manager Risk and Compliance – Advisory and Assurance to support the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager in delivering a robust Line 2 risk framework for our Financial Advice business. This 8‑month parental leave cover role focuses on oversight of operational risks, incident management and regulatory alignment.

You will lead assurance activities, provide insights to executives, and coordinate training while working with diverse teams to strengthen controls and resilience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in superannuation or financial advice with strong Line 2 operational risk background.
• Strong understanding of Financial Advice obligations, including Best Interest Duty.
• Proven experience analysing and reporting on operational risk data.
• Ability to coordinate training and influence business leaders.
• Experience supporting an Advice business is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and deliver the Line 2 assurance program and collaborate with auditors to strengthen controls.
• Oversee Incident & Breach Management Framework, support root-cause analysis, reporting and regulatory submissions.
• Guide business units on compliance obligations and integration of regulatory requirements into processes.
• Provide high-quality operational risk reporting and insights for Senior Leaders and external stakeholders.
• Support business resilience planning with impact assessments, continuity plans and testing.
• Provide Line 2 oversight, review and challenge across operational risks.
