seek.com.au in Sydney is hiring a developer to join a Sydney-based startup building a community platform for expats in Australia, near launch, then growing revenue and commercialising it as members arrive and provide feedback.

You will work in person with the founder in Sydney to make technical and commercial decisions, owning WordPress/BuddyBoss development, launch infrastructure, affiliate tracking, ads, and revenue dashboards.

Qualifications

• Advanced WordPress development including plugins and REST API.
• WooCommerce subscriptions, payment gateways and orders.
• BuddyBoss or similar community plugin experience.
• Affiliate tracking platforms integration (AffiliateWP, ShareASale, CJ).
• Ads integration (Google AdSense or direct server).
• MySQL queries for revenue and member data.
• Git version control on live platforms.
• Hosting/server management (Cloudways/cPanel), PHP tuning and caching.
• Experience with marketplaces/jobs boards or membership communities.

Responsibilities

• Review and own the WordPress and BuddyBoss codebase from the external agency.
• Identify and resolve issues before launch.
• Set up launch infrastructure - email, payments, content moderation, registrations and analytics.
• Integrate affiliate tracking so links are tracked from day one.
• Be available at launch and fix issues in the first days.
• Maintain and extend the paid jobs board with subscriptions and employer dashboards.
• Implement and manage ads across the platform and sponsor placements.
• Build affiliate tracking system for partnerships and generate reports.
• Develop revenue-share mechanics for community admins and dashboards.
• Set up dashboards showing revenue, growth, conversions and sponsor performance.
