Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Field Technician to join the WTRSS program at Mawson Lakes, SA. You will perform planned and corrective maintenance on telemetry and communications equipment, and support deployment of mission system gear for defence trials.

The role involves regular travel across Australia and to the Woomera Test Range, with opportunities for professional development and a clear pathway within a major defence contractor.

Qualifications

• Requires a Certificate III in Electronics or Telecommunications.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience required.
• Demonstrated understanding of radio frequency and communication equipment.
• Understanding of electrical and data interface standards and protocols.
• Understanding of operating systems/server systems/network protocols.
• Knowledge of the Defence Technical Regulatory Framework.
• Australian citizens with ability to obtain Negative Vetting 1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provision of specialist maintenance services to telemetry and communications equipment.
• Deployment and operation of Instrumentation Trailers across the Woomera Test Range in support of defence trials.
• Producing maintenance reports and meeting KPIs for technical compliance.
• Provision of configuration management support to selected mission systems.
• Provision of support for breakdown spares, repairable items, and test equipment.
• Providing technical support in engineering and maintenance services for the customer.
• Regular travel within Australia and internationally, including ~24 weeks per year at Woomera.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision of specialist maintenance services to telemetry and communications equipment. This includes light grade and heavy grade maintenance as defined by the equipment maintenance processes.
• Deployment and operation of Instrumentation Trailers across the Woomera Test Range in support of defence trials.
• Producing maintenance reports, meeting key performance indicators for technical compliance and contributing to system health indicators for production and program management.
• Provision of configuration management support to selected mission systems.
• Provision of support activities for breakdown spares, repairable items, and support and test equipment.
• Providing technical support in the conduct of engineering and maintenance services and activities for the customer.
• The role requires regular travel both within Australia and internationally, including approximately 24 weeks of instrumented testing per year at Woomera Test Range with typical deployments lasting between 1 to 3 weeks.

• A demonstrated understanding of and experience in the application of radio frequency and communication equipment.
