Job summary

AA Appointments is seeking an experienced Travel Consultant for its South Brisbane store. You will consult with clients to tailor leisure itineraries, design and book international holidays, and provide destination knowledge with airfare pricing insights.

Excellent customer service and strong rapport-building will drive repeat business. The role offers an attractive salary with incentives, travel discounts, and management support.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Retail Travel Consultant within a travel agency environment.
• Strong GDS skills and an excellent understanding of airfare pricing, fare rules and booking processes.
• Experience selling a variety of leisure travel products, including international holidays and tailored itineraries.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proven ability to build rapport with clients and develop repeat business.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bookings and client enquiries.
• A proactive, positive and results-driven attitude.
• The confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and colleagues.
• Flexibility to work a six-day rotating roster in line with the store's operating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand their travel preferences, budgets, interests and requirements.
• Design and book a variety of leisure travel experiences, including international holidays, land packages, cruises and tailor-made itineraries.
• Provide expert destination knowledge, product recommendations and travel advice.
• Prepare accurate quotations, itineraries and travel documentation.
• Utilise your GDS expertise and airfare knowledge to research, price and secure suitable travel options.
• Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through effective sales techniques and exceptional customer service.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business, referrals and long-term loyalty.
• Proactively identify opportunities to increase sales, promote relevant travel products and achieve sales targets.
