Job summary

The Queens Hotel Gladstone is expanding its Bottlemart retail network and seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to lead two multi-site Bottlemart locations in Gladstone.

You will drive sales growth, enhance customer engagement, and deliver strong team leadership while partnering with the leadership team to execute local area marketing and promotions across both stores.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Bottleshop or retail liquor operations.
• Multi-site management experience preferred.
• RSA certification is mandatory.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

About the Role

As Retail Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations, sales performance, team culture and customer experience across both retail locations while working closely with the leadership team at The Queens Hotel Gladstone.

You will lead the stores with a strong focus on:

• Sales growth and KPI performance
• Local area marketing and corporate sales opportunities
• Team leadership and staff development
• Customer service excellence
• Retail presentation and merchandising
• Loyalty app engagement and digital promotions
• Supplier relationships and stock control
• Integration with on-premise venue promotions and campaigns

You’ll work closely with Bottlemart and Liquor Marketing Group (LMG) programs, ensuring our stores remain competitive, highly visible and positioned as market leaders within Gladstone.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage retail operations across multiple Bottlemart locations
• Drive sales growth, profitability and operational performance
• Build strong local relationships and corporate business opportunities
• Ensure stores deliver exceptional presentation and customer experiences
• Manage inventory, ordering, pricing and stock control processes
• Oversee rostering, wage controls and team performance
• Execute national and local promotional campaigns
• Work alongside venue management to create integrated retail and on-premise offers
• Drive loyalty app engagement and digital marketing initiatives
• Maintain compliance with RSA and liquor licensing requirements

Skill & Experience

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience managing Bottleshop or retail liquor operations
• Multi-site management experience highly regarded
• Strong understanding of retail sales drivers and customer engagement
• Experience with SwiftPOS and ALM systems preferred
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Commercial mindset with a strong focus on growth and results
• Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of stock management and retail merchandising
• Current RSA certification (mandatory)
• Forklift Licence advantageous but not essential
• Availability to work a flexible roster including weekends and public holidays
