Job summary

Merlin Entertainments is seeking a commercially minded Retail Buyer & Merchandiser for ANZ to join the Sydney ANZ Retail Hub. You will shape and manage retail product ranges across Australian and New Zealand attractions, using guest insight, sales data and supplier partnerships to deliver sustainable commercial results.

Reporting to the Retail Hub Manager, ANZ, the role involves developing assortments, managing renewals, pricing and launches, and ensuring engaging visual merchandising across

Qualifications

• Experience in retail buying, merchandising or category management.
• Experience managing suppliers and diverse product portfolios.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of retail and consumer trends.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop product ranges aligned with attraction brands and guest demographics.
• Manage supplier relationships, including pricing, negotiations, lead times and performance.
• Develop seasonal ranges and coordinate new product launches.
• Manage replenishment planning and support inventory availability.
• Analyse sales, margin and product performance to optimise the product mix.
• Apply category management principles to improve commercial performance.
• Monitor product lifecycles and recommend product introductions, development or exits.
• Establish clear and engaging visual merchandising standards across attractions.
• Support promotional campaigns and broader regional retail initiatives.
• Partner with attraction teams to ensure ranges and merchandising standards are executed consistently.

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Retail Buyer & Merchandiser to join our ANZ Retail Hub team. Reporting to the Retail Hub Manager, ANZ, you will shape and manage retail product ranges across our Australian and New Zealand attractions.

Combining customer insight, sales analysis and strong supplier partnerships, you will create assortments that connect with our guests and deliver sustainable commercial results.

Key Responsibilities:

• You are curious about what guests want, confident working with data and equally comfortable negotiating with suppliers or helping attraction teams bring a product story to life.
• Experience in retail buying, merchandising or category management.
• Experience managing suppliers and diverse product portfolios.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of retail and consumer trends.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong negotiation, planning and organisational capability.
• An analytical and detail-focused approach to decision-making.
• Excellent stakeholder and relationship-management skills.
• Creativity, customer focus and an instinct for effective product presentation.
• Experience within a multi-site retail environment would be advantageous.
