Job summary

JS Careers has been engaged by a major financial institution to source an experienced Internal Audit Manager for a role in Sydney. The position will lead the internal audit plan, drive reviews and prepare reports for the Board Audit Committee.

The candidate should have 3+ years of external/internal audit experience, preferably in retail banking, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a solid understanding of regulatory controls.

Qualifications

• 3+ years external/internal audit experience, preferably with experience auditing within the retail banking industry.
• Proven experience working with senior stakeholders including group executives.
• Awareness of regulatory/compliance controls.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Preparing reports for the Board Audit Committee.
• Perform evaluation of key risks and controls across the consumer banking function.
• Produce internal audit reports with findings and practical recommendations to mitigate the risks identified.
• Ensure that the group auditing standard is adhered to.
• Involvement in both operational as well as basic IT audits (e.g., review of business continuity management and IT general controls).
• Involvement in on-going reviews of major new products/systems implementations.
• Provide ad hoc advice to operational units in developing and maintaining a strong control environment.
