Job summary

LRQA seeks an on-demand Responsible Sourcing Auditor to conduct social compliance audits across supplier sites and support clients with ethical sourcing practices.

The role requires independence, rigorous auditing expertise, and the ability to uphold high professional standards while delivering clear, evidence-based reports to clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Responsible Sourcing or Social Compliance Auditor.
• Knowledge of SMETA, Fair Farm or equivalent standards.
• Auditor certifications such as APSCA.
• Experience auditing labour, health & safety, and environmental areas.
• Strong understanding of supply chain risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent interviewing, observation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct social compliance audits in line with client protocols and internationally recognized standards (e.g., SMETA, Fair Farms or equivalent).
• Evaluate supplier performance against labour, health & safety, environmental, and ethical business practices.
• Perform site inspections, worker and management interviews, and document reviews; identify non-conformities, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare clear, accurate audit reports in accordance with company and client requirements.
• Ensure all audit findings are evidence-based, objective, and well-documented.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all audit information.
• Communicate professionally with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Adhere to audit schedules, deadlines, and quality standards.
• Stay up to date with evolving responsible sourcing standards and industry expectations.

The On-Demand Responsible Sourcing Auditor is an independent contractor engaged on an as-needed basis to conduct social compliance audits and inspections across supplier sites. The role supports clients in ensuring ethical sourcing practices, adherence to international standards, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

This position requires flexibility, strong auditing expertise, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities
