Nepean Lung and Sleep in Kingswood, NSW is seeking a Respiratory Scientist to join our dedicated team in delivering high-quality respiratory care. You will perform pulmonary function tests, interpret results, and contribute to diagnostic and sleep health services.

In this full-time role, you will maintain testing equipment, document findings, and collaborate with physicians and sleep specialists to optimise patient outcomes while upholding quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical or related Health Science or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated competency in pulmonary function testing and interpretation.
• Strong technical proficiency with respiratory testing equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy in testing and reporting.
• Outstanding communication skills to interact with patients, medical practitioners and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Professional approach to patient care with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
• Relevant experience in a hospital, laboratory or clinical respiratory setting is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function tests, including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity and bronchial challenge testing.
• Maintain and calibrate respiratory testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Prepare detailed reports of test results for review by respiratory physicians and sleep medicine specialists.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, infection control protocols and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in accordance with medical documentation standards.
