Job summary

NQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Resource Geologist to lead underground and surface exploration and resource-definition activities across North Queensland projects, based at Pajingo Gold Mine. The role supports ongoing resource growth with potential regional exploration programs and a 12/9 FIFO/DIDO roster.

You will ensure resource estimation aligns with industry best practice and collaborate with exploration, resource and drilling teams to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Geology.
• Postgraduate qualifications in gold mineralisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead resource estimates and documentation per JORC 2012.
• Validate drill data and maintain Geological database.
• Advise QA/QC protocols and ensure issue resolution.
• Guide resource definition drilling programs to grow site resources and maintain reserves.
• Manage quality of geological wireframes for resource estimation.
• Assist in developing conceptual geological models (Leapfrog/Micromine).
• Provide guidance in team discussions on resource development.
• Train and mentor Geologists in resource estimation.

About the Role

NQM GOLD 2 is seeking an experienced Resource Geologist to lead both underground and surface exploration and resource-definition activities across our North Queensland projects.

The role will be based at the Pajingo Gold Mine, ensuring that resource estimation at Pajingo is conducted to industry best practice. Supporting ongoing resource growth; however, NQM GOLD 2you may also support exploration programs across other the region.

What You'll Do

• Ensure all resource estimates and documentation is in accordance with JORC 2012 requirements.
• Ensure all drill data is suitably validated, securely retained and up to date in the Geological database
• Review and advise the Exploration Team on QA and QC protocols and procedures
• Ensure all Quality Assurance and Quality Control checks have been performed and appropriate actions taken to rectify preparation and analysis issues
• Help optimise and advise the Exploration Team with the resource definition drilling programs to ensure growth of site resources and suitable resource confidence maintained to ensure mined reserves are, at a minimum, replaced each year.
• Manage the quality and suitability of interpreted geological, mineralogical and structural wireframes for resource estimation purposes.
• Assist in the generation and maintenance of exploration conceptual geological models (Leapfrog and Micromine is desirable).
• Participation, contribution and guidance to team discussions on resource development projects as and when required
• Train and mentor Geologists to assist in the resource estimation process

What You'll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Geology
• Strong computer literacy in specialised Geology software such as Micromine, Vulcan, Leapfrog or Surpac
• Good working knowledge of gold mineralisation systems and structural geology
• Technical report writing
• 5-10 years industry experience, including 2 years resource estimation
• Knowledge and experience with JORC compliance, practices and reporting procedures
• Resource geology exposure
• Knowledge of QAQC systems and geochem datasets
• Knowledge of QLD mining law and JORC compliance
• Postgraduate qualifications in gold mineralisation
