Job summary

Larvotto Resources Limited in Hillgrove, NSW, Australia, is seeking an experienced Resource Development Geologist to join our mining team on a full-time residential basis. The role involves a balanced split between mine and exploration work with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

The candidate will support infill drilling, 3D geological modelling, and reconciliation between models and production. A background in narrow-vein deposits and strong collaboration across geoscience teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or equivalent.
• Postgraduate studies in structural geology, economic geology, mineral resource estimation and geostatistics are highly regarded.
• Radiation Safety User Licence (NSW) is highly desired for portable XRF usage.
• 4WD training.

Responsibilities

• Plan and budget infill diamond drill campaigns to support mine production schedules.
• Maintain and improve 3D geological models for resource estimation and grade control.
• Update mine domain interpretations using mapping and drill data.
• Plan grading control drilling, supervise contractors, and ensure QC adherence.
• Prepare technical reports and drill summaries for stakeholders.

Located 23km east of the township of Armidale, NSW, Hillgrove provides an opportunity to work and reside within a vibrant regional community in the New England region of NSW.

About the Role:

Larvotto Resources is seeking an experiencedResource Development Geologistto join our mining team full-time on a Residential basis and a work/life balance roster -8 days on, 6 days off.

This role is managed primarily by the Mine Geology Manager with a functional report to the Exploration Manager. The time split between Mine and Exploration work is 70% / 30% but will change as the mine and project evolves.

Key Responsibilities:

Mine Geology – Reporting to the Mine Geology Manager

• Infill diamond drill planning, including budgeting, and execution for de-risking and informing the mine production and development schedule, including identifying areas of data deficiencies, how and where to drill them from and when they need to be drilled to fully support the mine planning process.
• Life of Mine infill drilling planning, budgeting and integration with the long term mine development and production plan.
• Maintain and improve 3D geological, structural, lithological, alteration and mineralisation models to support short term grade control model updates and Mineral Resource Estimation updates and reporting. Working with the company Resource Estimation Geologist for peer review of work and assistance.
• Update and maintain the mine domain interpretations using underground mapping, sampling and diamond drilling data.
• Update the grade control block models when required to support the mine planning development and production design process. Underground and Open Cut.
• Scheduling and planning open cut grade control drilling campaigns to maximise opportunities and minimise delays to mining activity.
• Supervise drilling contractors and field personnel, ensuring safe execution, accurate collaring, survey control, sample quality and adherence to site procedures.
• Contribute to reconciliation between geological models, grade control outcomes, production performance and resource model expectations.

Exploration – Reporting to the Exploration Manager

• Planning, budgeting and executing resource development and expansion drilling programs, including from surface drilling, to improve and add to the resource inventory.
• Interpret narrow-vein Au-Sb-W mineralisation, lode continuity, plunge controls, fault offsets, vein intersections, alteration patterns and grade-shoot architecture.
• Securing peer reviews and signoffs for technical standards, geological interpretations and updated resource block models.
• Work closely with Resource Estimation, Mine Geology, Exploration, Survey, Engineering and Metallurgy teams to ensure drill data meets requirements for resource conversion and operational decision-making.
• Design drill programs that appropriately test vein orientation, true width, structural continuity, grade variability, geotechnical conditions and metallurgical domains.
• Ensure logging/LIBS Scanning, sampling, structural measurement, density, geotechnical, geometallurgical and assay QA/QC data are collected to the required standard.
• Review assay results, downhole surveys, structural data and database validation outputs to identify issues, trends, opportunities and follow-up targets.
• Support resource estimation inputs including domain interpretation, wireframe validation, drill spacing assessment, depletion review and classification confidence.
• Prepare technical reports, target reviews, drilling summaries, budget inputs, forecasts and presentations for site and corporate stakeholders.
• Contribute to peer reviews of interpretations, structural data capture, QA/QC and drill program execution.

About You

To be considered you will need:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Earth Science or equivalent.
• Postgraduate studies in structural geology, economic geology, mineral resource estimation and geostatistics are highly regarded.
• Radiation Safety User Licence (NSW), highly desired where portable XRF equipment is used.
• 4WD training

Ideally you will possess:

• 3-5 years’ relevant geology experience, including resource development, underground geology, exploration or resource estimation in underground and open-cut narrow vein hard-rock environments.
• Strong practical understanding of narrow-vein deposits, structurally controlled mineralisation, vein modelling, drill spacing, grade continuity and dilution risk.
• Experience with Au, Sb and/or W systems, including polymetallic assay interpretation, mineralogical controls and geometallurgical data requirements, highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, budget, and manage and report on drilling programs, drilling contractors, and geological deliverables.
• Advanced capability in Microsoft office, 3D geological modelling and drillhole data management software: Micromine, RockMapper & Datashed 5 with experience using Deswik an advantage.
• Sound understanding of QA/QC, sampling theory, downhole survey validation, database integrity and resource estimation inputs.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate geological risk and opportunity into practical recommendations for planning and operations teams.
• A safety-focused, proactive and field-oriented approach to underground and surface resource development activities.
