Job summary

Point Care Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Residential Care Workers / Youth Workers to support young children in a structured residential setting on the Sunshine Coast. The role requires professionalism and the ability to manage complex behaviours while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.

You will provide day-to-day care, implement care plans, and support children with developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in residential care or similar settings.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour management.
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card).
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Current Police Check within the last 3 months.
• Ability to work shift work, including sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.
• Can start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed care to children and young people in residential care.
• Support daily routines including personal care, meals, education and activities.
• Implement individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
• Manage challenging behaviours using approved strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and progress notes.
• Work collaboratively with families, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with NDIS standards, Child Safety requirements and organisational policies.

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or equivalent) - REQUIRED
