Qualifications

About the role:

Working as a Residential Support Worker at our service in East Geelong you will empower the people we support to live independently and participate in the community. Providing hands on support while ensuring a safe, inclusive and empowering environment, you will become an integral part of their care team.

Duties will include:

• Assisting with personal care, daily living tasks and household duties.
• Supporting community participation, social engagement and recreational activities.
• Encouraging independence by helping build skills and achieve goals.
• Building meaningful relationships to provide person-centred support.
• Maintaining accurate and thorough records of activities, progress and incidents.

What you will bring to the role:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to problem solve
• Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
• Ability to accurately record case notes.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
• A passion for supporting people to live their best lives
• Current CPR, First Aid, Working with Children Check, NDIS Check & completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain)
• Victorian drivers licence

Roster for this vacancy:

At Gateways Support Services, we work on a fortnightly Week 1 / Week 2 roster, running Thursday to Wednesday.

30 Hours

Week 1:

• Thursday: 6am-9am
• Tuesday: 3pm-10pm & sleepover
• Wednesday: 6am-9am

Week 2:

• Thursday: 3pm-10pm & sleepover
• Friday: 6am-9am
• Wednesday: 3pm-10pm & sleepover
