Job summary

Harvey Norman Global Pty Limited is seeking a Solar Design Engineer to prepare complete solar design packages, perform sizing and ROI analyses, and generate installation documentation for residential projects in the Sydney area. You will work with installers, procurement, and sales to ensure accurate, compliant designs and timely delivery of projects.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and PVSyst, plus knowledge of AS/NZS standards, is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in solar industry (residential preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a diverse team.
• Familiarity with permitting and building codes related to solar installations.

Responsibilities

• Produce complete solar design packages including panel layouts, SLDs, BOQs, and performance modeling.
• Generate comprehensive Work Orders for installers including BOM and guidelines.
• Conduct system sizing, shading analysis, and ROI calculations based on customer data.
• Prepare documentation for grid approvals (Ausgrid, Endeavour and Essential Energy).
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to source materials and ensure on-time delivery.
• Assist in development of proposals and technical presentations for client meetings.
