Job summary

Harvey Norman Global Pty Limited is seeking a Design Engineer to lead residential solar system design and documentation. You will act as a liaison between sales, installers and operations to uphold high delivery standards.

Responsibilities include creating design packages, sizing, ROI analysis, and grid-approval documentation, while coordinating with procurement and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate delivery.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in solar design or related role (residential preferred).
• SAA design accreditation for grid-connected systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, and MS Office.
• Solid understanding of electrical and structural principles for solar energy.
• Familiarity with local permitting and building codes for solar installations.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Produce complete solar design packages including panel layouts, SLDs, BOQs and performance modelling.
• Generate comprehensive Work Orders for installers with BOM, guidelines and compliance with standards.
• Conduct system sizing, shading analysis and ROI calculations from customer data.
• Prepare documentation for grid approvals (Ausgrid, Endeavour and Essential Energy).
• Ensure accurate supporting documentation for order processing and coordination with stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate new technologies into designs.
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to source materials on time.
