About the role

This is a Permanent Part time (shift work) role, based in Bathurst NSW.

As a Residential Care Worker in our Supported Independent Living and Residential Services Program, you’ll play a central role in providing safe, structured, and trauma-informed care for children and young people in our care. Working across our Interim and Therapeutic Care Services, You’ll be part of a team that ensure daily routines, therapeutic plans, and wellbeing practices are consistently implemented, helping our children and young people feel secure, supported, and valued.

What you’ll do

No two days are the same — and that’s what makes this role rewarding. As a Residential Care Worker, you’ll:

Provide day-to-day care, guidance and emotional support to young people in a safe and nurturing home environment.

Your roster

This position operates on a four-week rotating roster, averaging around 55 hours per fortnight, with a balance of day, evening, weekend and sleepover shifts.

You must be able to commit to a consistent shift-work pattern that includes sleepovers, ensuring stability and routine for the young people in our care.

A minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work or a related field (Diploma or Degree highly regarded).

Experience working with children and young people with complex needs.

A sound understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care approaches.

Excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Current Driver’s Licence, First Aid and CPR, and a Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
