Job summary

Newcastle Anglican seeks a Residential Care Manager to lead care, staff, and operations across the facility, ensuring high-quality consumer care within budget. This role requires managing regulatory compliance, quality initiatives, and organisational culture aligned with our Mission and Values.

You will lead development plans, ensure staff qualifications, and coordinate with care meetings to drive strategic care delivery.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in geriatric nursing and/or dementia care with AHPRA registration.
• Management/leadership qualifications or demonstrated competencies in health care leadership.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to obtain required checks (NDIS, national police).

Responsibilities

• Oversee RCM Rhythm activities and participate in care management meetings.

Job description

The Residential Care Manager (RCM) will be responsible for providing leadership, overall direction, co-ordination and efficient management of staff, clinical care, and operations across the Residential Aged Care Facility in accordance with Newcastle Anglican Mission, Vision and Values.

The RCM will also be required to manage all aspects of the facility to meet regulations, the goals and objectives of Anglican Care including the Strategic Plan, ensuring the highest outcomes in the provision of consumer care, within budgetary limitations.

This position is located in Booragul - CA Brown Lodge

Role & Responsibilities:

• Actively promote the desired culture of Newcastle Anglican by ensuring all interactions, documentation and communication is conducted in a manner which supports the stated Mission and Values.
• Adhere to the Statutory Regulations, Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and Philosophy of Care.
• Ensure all daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly RCM Rhythm activities are completed
• Function as a member of the relevant care meetings to assist in the formulation of development plans, management philosophy and operational policies and procedures for the overall management of care.
• Provide leadership, direction and coordination to employees in relation to: professional aspects of care, education, employee’s development, projects/research, resident management systems, information systems, infection control, quality control and improvement.
• Ensure that all employees are appropriately qualified and trained with proven abilities to perform their responsibilities at the level required.
• Identifying team requirements within establishment and facilitate workforce planning for site
• Achieve care standards in the Aged Care Home, which exceeds the minimum requirements as established by relevant legislation.
• Deliver care using a “Person Centred Approach” ensuring that the concerns of consumers/family and the community are addressed in a manner that is above industry standard.
• Relieve in other roles during periods of leave as requested and appropriate to role, subject to agreement.

About you?

• Hold tertiary qualifications in geriatric nursing and/or dementia car or demonstrated experience in a related field including AHPRA registration
• Related tertiary qualifications in Management/Leadership and/or demonstrated competencies in that field, with additional competencies including multi-skilling into other streams preferably within the health care environment
• Hold a current Drivers licence
• Hold a current NDIS Check or willingness to apply
• A National police check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes
