Job summary

Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community is seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Officer to design and run programs that enhance residents' quality of life and independence. You will work within a caring team to create engaging activities tailored to residents’ needs and cognitive abilities, ensuring a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Ideal candidates will have a Leisure & Lifestyle certificate and First Aid, plus experience planning activities for frail residents.

Qualifications

• Leisure & Lifestyle certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Current First Aid Certificate is required.
• Experience planning and evaluating activities for frail residents, including cognitive impairment.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes.
• Sensitivity to residents' needs and interests; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement special programs for residents to enhance quality of life.
• Conduct programs to support autonomy and independence and create a fun, relaxing environment.
• Collaborate with the Leisure & Lifestyle team and broader care staff to meet resident needs.

Current NSW Driver's Licence

Education

Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or relevant qualification
