Job summary

Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community is seeking a part-time Leisure & Lifestyle Officer to design and run engaging programs for residents, enhancing quality of life and independence.

You will contribute to a welcoming environment, document care notes, and collaborate with the care team to support residents’ goals in a community-focused setting in Cessnock, NSW.

Qualifications

• Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or other relevant qualification.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating activities for frail people with cognitive impairment and disabilities.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes.
• Sensitivity to residents' needs and interests; strong communication skills.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
• Desire to join a team in a mission-based organisation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement special programs to meet residents' needs and improve quality of life in care.
• Run programs to support residents’ autonomy and independence in a fun, relaxing environment.
• Contribute to Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community’s care goals and community involvement.

About The Role

As part of the Leisure and Lifestyle team you will ensure the design, development and implementation of special programs to meet the needs of residents, helping to provide quality of life and enjoyment whilst in care.

As Leisure and Lifestyle Officer you will conduct programs to support the autonomy and independence of each resident, by creating a fun and relaxing environment.

What You Bring

• Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or other relevant qualification
