Job summary

Coffs Coast Legacy is seeking a Laundry Attendant to join our Home Services team in caring for residents in a residential aged care facility. You will provide a safe, hygienic and resident-focused laundry service for clothing, linen and towels.

Role involves following infection prevention standards, workplace safety requirements and organisational policies, with duties including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding and distributing laundry to residents while maintaining privacy and dignity.

Qualifications

• Relevant knowledge of laundry operations and textile care.
• Understanding of infection prevention and hygiene standards.
• Familiarity with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to handle and use chemicals safely.
• Manual handling skills for lifting and moving laundry.
• Respect for residents’ rights, dignity and privacy.
• Awareness of strengthened aged care quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, iron, fold and distribute resident clothing and linen.
• Follow established laundry procedures and manufacturer instructions for textiles and care products.
• Ensure personal clothing is identified and returned to residents.
• Report damaged, missing, or unlabelled clothing to the supervisor.
• Maintain adequate supplies of linen and towels.
• Monitor laundry equipment and report faults or maintenance requirements.
